Giuliano Mari

President and Project Manager

Giuliano Mari has been Chairman of Energie Salentine S.p.A. since February 2025.

An industrial engineer, throughout his long career he has led some of Italy’s largest companies, including Autostrade per l’Italia S.p.A., where he served as Chairman from 2019 to 2022. He was Chairman of Targhetti Poulsen S.p.A. from 2007 to 2008 and of Lucchini Siderurgica S.p.A. from 2011 to 2013. He also served as Board Member of IREN S.p.A. and Banca Fideuram. He held the roles of Head of Internal Control Systems and Chairman of the Risk Management and Corporate Governance Committee at Atlantia S.p.A., General Manager of COFIRI S.p.A., and Head of the Corporate and Financing Department at IMI. He was also CEO and General Manager of IMI Investimenti. He served as Board Member of Edison and Aeroporti di Roma S.p.A.

He is currently Chairman of Assietta Private Equity Sgr S.p.A. and of Green Value S.p.A., as well as a member of the investment committee of major international investment funds.

Ernesto Massimino Bellelli

Executive Board Member

Ernesto Massimino Bellelli has been a Board Member of Energie Salentine S.p.A. since February 2025.

A career diplomat, during his long professional path he has held numerous high-level positions both in Rome and abroad. He served as Ambassador to International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Macedonia, Consul General in Rio de Janeiro, Head of the Political and Press Office at the Embassy in New Delhi, Head of the Commercial Office at the Embassy in Brussels, and Consul in São Paulo, Brazil.

At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he performed several functions within the Directorate General for Political Affairs, the Directorate General for Economic Affairs, and the Directorate General for Development Cooperation. He was Coordinator for International Financial Institutions, aid credits, and the CDP Group, Head of the Iraq Task Force and Coordinator of aid operations in the country, Coordinator of the Italian base in Nassiriya, National Representative for Non-Proliferation issues, Head of Delegation in EU, UN, and G7 groups dealing with disarmament and non-proliferation, and a negotiator of investment promotion and protection agreements with countries in Asia and Oceania, as well as air, naval, and tourism agreements.

Among his various roles, he was also Head of Delegation at the Paris Club and the OECD, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the National Committee for the Merchant Navy and in the Council of Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad, Secretary General of the Italian Investors Group in Brussels, Chairman of the Nuclear Suppliers Group, Chairman of the Major Arms Suppliers Group, and Representative of the Western Countries Group at the Human Rights Council. He has led several international EU missions for electoral monitoring and cooperation.

He is also a Board Member at Green Value S.p.A.
He speaks English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Giuseppe Nerio Carugno

Board Member

Professor Giuseppe Nerio Carugno has been a Board Member of Energie Salentine S.p.A. since February 2025.

He is a lawyer qualified to practice before higher courts, and a professor of administrative law at the National School of Administration and at the former “Ezio Vanoni” School of Economics and Finance in Rome. He previously served as an ordinary magistrate, holding the positions of Magistrate in Castelfiorentino and Empoli, Judge at the Court of Florence, and Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Court of Pisa.

He was also State Attorney and held several significant public offices, including Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Undersecretary to the Prime Minister with responsibility for sports, Chief of Staff to the Minister of Agricultural Policies and later to the Minister of the Environment, Legal Advisor at the Legislative Office of the Prime Minister’s Office and to the Regional Minister for the Environment of the Lazio Region. He served as Extraordinary Commissioner and later as Board Member of ICRAM – the National Institute for Applied Marine Research – and as President of the National Institute of Research for Food and Nutrition, both national public research institutions.

He also served as Extraordinary Commissioner of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park Authority. A consultant to numerous national public bodies, he currently works as an expert and manager in the context of technical assistance activities for the Campania Region. He has extensive teaching experience with universities and public training institutions, and was a professor at the University of Pisa. He is the author of several publications on administrative law.

Fabio Luongo

Board Member

Fabio Luongo has been a Board Member of Energie Salentine since February 2025.

 

He is a lawyer with significant experience gained in leading international law firms in New York, Rome, and Milan. In 2021, he joined the law firm LEXIA, becoming a Partner in 2024.

 

He has developed solid expertise in corporate law and M&A transactions, advising national and international investors, private equity funds, companies, and entrepreneurs in numerous buy-side and sell-side deals.

 

He is specialized in structuring, managing, and negotiating extraordinary transactions such as corporate acquisitions and restructurings, as well as in civil and commercial contract law.

 

He holds a master’s degree in Law from La Sapienza University of Rome and an International Master’s in Global Regulation of Markets. He is registered with the Rome Bar Association.

Massimiliano Cristino

Board Member

Massimiliano Cristino has been a Board Member of Energie Salentine S.p.A. since February 2025.

He is a corporate legal expert, specialized in legal consultancy in civil and administrative law, with particular focus on public and private contract law, urban planning, and construction law. He holds a law degree from the University of Foggia and has served as adjunct professor of Labor Law.

 

He has provided legal consultancy to both public and private corporate management bodies.

From 2004 to 2020, he was legal consultant and head of external legal services for the “Consortium for the Industrial Development Area of Foggia and Province,” a regional public economic entity for industrial development. Since 2010, he has served as legal advisor to the main construction and public works companies in the region, with expertise in legal management, general contracting, urban planning, and public and private contracts.

 

He has held political and administrative consultancy roles supporting the political leadership of the Province of Foggia, including as legal advisor to the public procurement office for contract awards. Since 2004, he has also provided legal advice in the field of construction and urban planning law for the Municipality of Foggia and continues to serve in that role for the Consortium for the Industrial Development Area of Foggia and Province.

He is currently Legal Manager and Head of Human Resources at En.IT Group S.p.A.
